The day before yesterday I had a hearty breakfast in Ho Chi Minh city;

then I started my trip up the coast of Vietnam, first stop Mui Ne. I met up with a guy from Sweden named Jacob and a girl from Holland Named Renee, and spent the two days in Muine with them. Muine is a sleepy beach town, very relaxing compared to the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City. The Town is just one long street, and the land between it and the beach is lined with resorts. On the first day I was happy to be able to do lots of swimming on the beach and generally not doing much, good to have some downtime.

And some more |
Yesterday we hired a few motorbikes and went to the red dunes outside of Muine, impressive piles of sand that carry on for miles, you can also hire plastic sheets from the local working kids to slide down some of the steeper dunes. After nearly getting the three of us hopelessly lost with my really keen sense of direction, I conceded that perhaps just maybe we could have a look at our map, and without too much trouble we made our way back into town just as the fuel lights appeared on the motorbike dashboards.

Today I arrived in Nga Trang, a big diving/beaching tourist hot spot on the coast of Vietnam. Not a huge amount for me to do here and a lot more noisy than muine so tomorrow or the next day i will head to the old town of Hoi An, about 11 hours by bus up the coast.
